Real-time data from flux towers
The flux tower is an instrument that enables continuous monitoring of greenhouse gas fluxes between the land surface and the atmosphere, applying the eddy covariance technique. This method allows real-time and continuous estimation of the net flux of the main greenhouse gases. The tower is equipped with two main sensors, a gas analyzer and a sonic anemometer, installed on a support that rises above the vegetation canopy. Data collected by the two sensors are processed to reconstruct the net fluxes of carbon and other greenhouse gases.
