Project description
The project involves the establishment of new permanent agricultural crop systems on land previously affected by Xylella.
Company description
A multifunctional farm with a predominant olive and fruit growing focus (olive, prickly pear, fig, citrus, walnut and vine), integrated with arable crops and forage (oats, durum wheat, fodder). The company has been certified organic since 2012 (pursuant to EU Reg. 2018/848 and subsequent amendments). Historically rooted in excellence in olive growing and the production of high-quality organic Extra Virgin Olive Oil, the company has undertaken a decisive business transformation to counter the Xylella fastidiosa emergency. This shift involved the introduction of new crop varieties and the planting of high-density intensive olive groves with tolerant cultivars. Farm management relies on a state-of-the-art, highly organised fleet of machinery, optimised to ensure the operational efficiency of individual supply chains and the application of Carbon Farming techniques aimed at soil health. The original core of the business is deeply rooted in premium olive growing, focused from the outset on the production of high-end Organic Extra Virgin Olive Oil.
